Catalina Morales

My name is María Catalina, I am 22 years old, nowadays studying Chemical Engineering and Industrial Engineering, besides being a proudly YMCA Colombia volunteer.

In 2012 was the beginning of a new life, where my time was dedicated for more than going back and forward from home to school, I started to focus my efforts and dedication in something amazing, which is still part of my life, and I love it.

By being selected to be in Youth Ambassadors Program (YAP) I got to know the YMCA, which led me to the ACJ Bogotá where I participate in A’IM and Escaladores, projects that are focus in new volunteer training, these programs opened up my heart to this movement.

Simultaneously, my decision was to put into practice all the knowledge I was getting in the Hogar Shekinah, there I faced for the first time the harsh reality some people live, and understand that is necessary and also is my responsibility to work in order to make a change.
