The movement of Young Men’s Christian Association ACJ / YMCA
was founded in London, England, June 6th in 1844 by George Williams
and a group of young Christians.
OUR MISSION
The base of the work and testimony of the Young Men's Christian
Association is described in the BASE OF PARIS, adopted by the delegates
of the 1st World Conference in Paris in 1855 and ratified by the
6th World Council of YMCAs in 1973.
BASIS OF PARIS
"The Young Christian Association looks for young people who
join, considering Jesus Christ as God and Saver according to the
Scriptures want, they will be disciples in their faith and in their
lives for him and work together to spread between youth his Master
of the Kingdom ". +

- The ACJ-YMCA supports a Diversified Program.

We work for::
- Share the good news of Jesus Christ and strive for the welfare
spiritual, intellectual and physical development of individuals
and communities as a whole.
- Empowering all, especially young people and women, to assume
greater responsibilities and to provide leadership at all levels
and work for a society with equity.
- Defend and promote women's rights and uphold the children’s
rights.
- Encourage dialogue and joint work between people of different
faith and ideology and recognize the cultural identities of people
and promote cultural renewal.
- Commit to work in solidarity with the poor, the dispossessed,
uprooted and racial, religious and ethnic oppressed.
- Seek to be mediators and reconciling in conflict situations
and work for the meaningful participation and advancement of people
to self-determination.
- Defending God's creation against anything that would destroy
it. Preserve and protect the Earth's resources for future generations.
To meet these challenges, the Young Men's Christian Association
will develop models for cooperation at all levels to create conditions
for self-reliance and self-determination.
